How to reduce electrical emissions in industry?

Industry is responsible for a large proportion of Portugal’s greenhouse gas emissions. In 2020, industry was responsible for 26.2% of the country’s total greenhouse gas emissions.

There are several measures that can be implemented to reduce electrical emissions in Portuguese industry. These measures can be divided into three main categories:

    • Improving air quality: Reducing electrical emissions can help reduce air pollution, which improves human health and the environment.
    • Reduced energy costs: Reducing energy consumption can help companies cut their energy costs.
    • Job creation: The transition to renewable energy sources and the adoption of emerging technologies can create new jobs in the industry.

Implementing measures to reduce electrical emissions in Portuguese industry could bring significant benefits to the country. These measures can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality and promote sustainability.

Some of the specific benefits of reducing electrical emissions in Portuguese industry:

    • Improving air quality: Reducing electrical emissions can help reduce air pollution, which improves human health and the environment.
    • Reduced energy costs: Reducing energy consumption can help companies cut their energy costs.
    • Job creation: The transition to renewable energy sources and the adoption of emerging technologies can create new jobs in the industry.

MTVD is already playing an important role in reducing electrical emissions in industry, i.e. it is taking measures to reduce its energy consumption and adopting renewable energy sources.
